Dear NECSD scholars, families, faculty, and staff,

I’m writing to provide you with some information about an incident that took place in the local community on Wednesday, November 17th and the impact it has had on our school community. 

The safety of everyone who enters our school and district buildings remains our highest priority. After an incident involving young people occurred last night, the district felt it best to close the high school buildings. This is giving our administrators time to work with local authorities and internal teams to assess the situation and the impact it may have on our school community. 

Moving forward, we have decided that 极速六合彩 Free Academy, all three campuses, will remain closed for Friday, November 19th to allow time to implement a cohesive plan of action to address the safety and social-emotional concerns of our scholars, faculty, and staff. All faculty and staff should report at their regular times. All other schools will be open and operate on their regular schedule. The district has decided to keep the elementary and middle schools open because we whole-heartedly agree that our schools are a safe haven for our scholars. Our school buildings and our school employees are pillars of our community. We know that our schools are a place that offer support and a nurturing environment that provides a safe space, and allows for consistency for each of our scholars. 

We know that a large majority of our children are positively contributing to our schools and local communities. We also know that several young people throughout the country are struggling to manage their emotions as we emerge from two years of solitude and a lack of normalcy and socialization. The 极速六合彩t is fortunate enough to have faculty, staff, and administrators who go above and beyond to meet the needs of our students every single day. It is only together, with the collaboration of our families and community members, that we are able to truly support our children. Together, we must work to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students to thrive. 

If any student would like to discuss concerns, develop strategies to manage their emotions, or engage in peer mediation, they should contact their school guidance counselor and/or grade level administrator. Parents and families can utilize these resources as well or contact the district's Director of Safety and Security. All contact information can be found on the district's website 极速六合彩Schools.org. Additionally, counseling support services for high school students and resources for parents will be provided at the the Board of Education and NFA West tomorrow from 8:00am - 4:00pm.

The vision of the NECSD remains, “Through the work of all, we will achieve inclusive excellence.” Each and everyone of us owns a role in supporting and guiding our scholars to become leaders beyond Academy Field.

Le escribo para brindarle información sobre un incidente que tuvo lugar en la comunidad local el miércoles 17 de noviembre y el impacto que ha tenido en nuestra comunidad escolar.
