South Middle School performs Winter Concert
South Middle School performed their Winter Concert last week, featuring 6th grade orchestra, 7th and 8th grade concert orchestra, 6th grade chorus, 7th and 8th grade chorus, 6th grade band, and Concert band.
6th grade Orchestra was conducted by Mr. Felix Robles and played Jingle Bells and Jolly Ol' Saint Nicholas. All songs included students playing the violin, viola, and cello.
7th and 8th grade Concert Orchestra was conducted by Mr. Felix Robles and played Selection from Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Honor and Glory. All songs included students playing the violin, viola, bass, and cello.
6th grade Chorus was conducted by Mr. Rick Santacroce and accompanied by Mrs. Karin McCartney on piano and Dr. Paul Carroll on drums. Students made up both Soprano and Alto sections and played One More Sleep 'Til Christmas, Light and Candles, Do You Want to Build a Snowman? (Frozen), and Hot Chocolate (The Polar Express).
7th & 8th grade Chorus was conducted by Mr. Rick Santacroce and accompanied by Mrs. Karin McCartney on piano and Dr. Paul Carroll on drums. Students made up both Soprano, Alto, and Baritone sections and played Carol of the Bells, Hanukkah Shalom, Believe (Polar Express), and Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).
6th grade Band, conducted by Mr. Felix Robles played When the Saints Go Marching In, Old McDonald, and Ode to Joy. Instruments included: flute, trumpet, clarinet, trombone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and percussion
Concert Band, conducted by Mr. Felix Robles played Joy and Chasing Orion. Instruments included: flute, trumpet, clarinet, bass clarinet, trombone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, and percussion.
