Balmville Hosts Just Different: First Annual Poetry Representation
Balmville School's first poetry day, called Just Different: First Annual Poetry Representation, was a powerful and creative experience. The event aimed to showcase how we are more different than we are alike—behind every thought, every voice, and every style.
We started by reading poems aloud and sharing how we interpreted them, noticing how each person’s perspective brought something unique to the room. Then we wrote our own poems, exploring our identities, thoughts, and feelings. It was both exciting and eye-opening to see how poetry allowed each of us to express ourselves in such different and beautiful ways. By the end, we not only explored poetry but also celebrated the differences that make our voices stand out.
